Her father, Lex Hixon, was a religious scholar and author who practiced simultaneously four religious traditions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam.  As a child, she found an alternate practice: poetry.  Thankfully, her voice was heard, her gift nurtured, and now she likes to do this for others.

As a Certified Applied Poetry Facilitator with the International Federation for Biblio/Poetry Therapy, she has worked with young children, imprisoned youth, pregnant and parenting teens, the homeless, the neurologically diverse, and homeless veterans.  She has edited four collaborations from her work as a facilitator:  "The Wonderful World of King Royale and His Traveling Cast of Miraculous and Mortal Beings", "A Book With Many Answers", "The Stormy Seas Guidebook" and "What made to be what I am at this moment"

Radfar was the recipient of an Artist-in-Residence Grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs in 2015-2016 and 2017-2018.
